Santa Rosa Cemetery Memorial

This monument was erected in 1962 in memory of the pioneers of the upper San Juan River who came in 1887 and whose remains and those of many of their descendants lie one mile directly east in the old cemetery now under the waters of the Navajo Reservoir near the site of the first permanent settlement of the village of Rosa, New Mexico. The family names of these early pioneers are:

Abeyta, Aragon, Candelaria, Chavez, Espinosa, Gallegos, Garcia, Griego, Lucero, Maez, Marquez, Martinez, Mora, Quintana, Rivas, Salazar, Sotelo, Trujillo
